Finding a co-founder \/ collaborator<\/h1>\n

As a community dedicated to all aspects of\u00a0side projects<\/span>, we understand how difficult it is to go at it alone. However, it’s sometimes equally difficult to find someone to work with. In addition to the marketplace for buying & selling projects, SideProjectors is a place where you can submit a project to seek either a co-founder or a collaborator.<\/div>\n
The process of submitting a project is similar to\u00a0Submitting a project for sale. You can start by clicking on the\u00a0Submit a Project<\/span>\u00a0button and selecting the\u00a0Find a co-founder for my project<\/span>\u00a0option.<\/div>\n
In the next popup screen (shown below) you can type in the homepage URL of your project and SideProjectors will try to automatically retrieve as much information as possible to populate the submission form which will appear next.<\/div>\n
Also, SideProjectors can directly integrate with\u00a0ProductHunt<\/span>\u00a0to retrieve your project and pre-fill the submission form. If you wish, you can skip this step, otherwise, this is a great way to fill out your project information without typing.<\/div>\n

Project submission form<\/div>\n
In the project submission form, we strongly recommend you to fill out all the information. This gives the potential co-founder \/ collaborator the sufficient understanding of what is involved in joining your project and prevents you from receiving emails with unnecessary questions.<\/div>\n
Every project submitted on SideProjectors is reviewed and checked by our moderators before being published to our homepage. Your project is most likely to be approved quickly, if it contains all the information (provided that it meets the\u00a0project listing guideline).<\/div>\n
High quality listings are also frequently featured on our homepage, blog, newsletter, Twitter and Facebook page giving you more visibility, so it’s worth investing that little extra time making sure that your submission has all the information.<\/div>\n
Note that project submission form has an\u00a0Auto Saving<\/span>\u00a0feature so you don’t need to worry about losing what you typed. Un-published projects are saved as\u00a0Drafts<\/span>\u00a0and you can always edit them later by clicking on\u00a0Submit a Project<\/span>\u00a0and selecting\u00a0Finish draft projects in progress<\/span>.<\/div>\n
What happens after submission?<\/div>\n
Once you submit your project, our moderators will be notified and will review your project. The review process takes usually around 24 hours and once approved, you will be notified via email and should see your project on our homepage. After that, users who are interested in joining your project will contact you via email.<\/div>\n

Joining a project as a co-Founder \/ collaborator<\/h1>\n
If you find a project that you would like to join or ask questions to the project owner, you can do so by clicking on\u00a0Join Project \/ Contact Owner<\/span>\u00a0button. All messages exchanged will be available through your\u00a0Inbox<\/span>\u00a0and they will also be notified via email.<\/div>\n
Some tips when finding a potential co-founder \/ collaborator<\/div>\n
Finding a right co-founder or a collaborator is a difficult task. It is unlikely that you will find the right person quickly. So we recommend you to take your time and make sure you go through many discussions together face-to-face on tools such as Zoom, Skype or Google Hangout. Better yet, we encourage meeting them in person (if possible) to coordiniate the partnership. Make sure that both parties set expectations around<\/div>\n

  • Time commitment – how much does each person is expected to spend on this?<\/li>\n
  • Share & ownership- how do you arrange share and ownership of the project?<\/li>\n
  • Expenses – if there is any running cost to the project, how does each person contribute?<\/li>\n
  • Salary – if the project is earning revenue, how does each person get compensated?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
    SideProjectors acts as the initial\u00a0connector<\/span>\u00a0and you will need to make sure that you do all your due diligence to make sure that the each party is legitimate and both particies make an agreement on how the partnership will work. equity, how does each person contribute towards the operating expense of the project If the owner is interested, he\/she will respond to your request via email. We understand that it is a difficult task to find a right co-founder, so we strongly suggest you take your time in talking to the owner of the project. In addition to the exchange of emails, we also advise you to speak to them via other communication channels such as Skype, Google Hangout.
